What is RuleSell?

RuleSell is the verified marketplace for AI development assets. It sells quality-scored, security-scanned rules, MCP servers, skills, agents, workflows, prompts, CLIs, datasets, and bundles for Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Codex, ChatGPT, Gemini CLI, n8n, GitHub Copilot, and other AI coding tools. Every listing is automatically measured on five quality signals and assigned a letter grade from S to D.

What problem does RuleSell solve?

AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf are powerful, but their effectiveness depends on the rules, skills, and integrations developers configure. The current ecosystem has three problems:

  1. No quality signals. Directories list thousands of assets with star ratings that are easily gamed. There is no way to know if an asset actually works well.
  2. No security scanning. Research shows 36.7% of public MCP servers have SSRF vulnerabilities. Most directories do not scan for security issues.
  3. Creators earn nothing. On cursor.directory, smithery.ai, and mcp.so, creators list assets for free with no revenue share. There is no incentive to maintain quality.

RuleSell solves all three by automating quality measurement, scanning every asset for security issues, and paying creators 85% of every sale.

How does RuleSell's quality scoring work?

Every asset is automatically evaluated on five signals when uploaded and re-evaluated weekly:

Token efficiency

Measures how concisely the asset delivers its instructions. Shorter, clearer rules produce better AI behavior.

Install success rate

Percentage of successful installations across Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and other environments.

Schema cleanliness

Validates structure, formatting, metadata completeness, and adherence to format specifications.

Freshness

How recently the asset was updated relative to its target platform's latest version.

Security scan

Automated check for leaked secrets, unsafe patterns, command injection, SSRF, and supply chain risks.

These five signals combine into a letter grade: S (exceptional), A (excellent), B (good), C (acceptable), D (needs work). Only assets scoring B or higher appear in search results by default.

How to install assets from RuleSell

  1. Find an asset. Browse rulesell.com or use the search to find rules, MCP servers, skills, or other assets for your AI coding tool.
  2. Check quality score. Review the asset's quality grade (S through D), security scan results, and verified reviews from other developers who installed it.
  3. Install with one command. Run 'npx rulesell install <slug>' in your terminal. The CLI detects your environment (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.) and installs the asset in the correct location.
  4. Verify installation. The CLI confirms the asset is installed and shows you where the files were placed. For rules, they take effect on your next AI interaction.
